Canadian author-illustrator, Jon Klassen is being appointed to the Order of Canada. The award-winning author was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and grew up in Niagara Falls and Toronto. Ordering picture books is one of the toughest parts of my job. Every season I select literally double the number of picture books I can afford, and then have the daunting task of removing about 100 titles from my shopping cart. Ordering pictures books is also one of my favourite parts of my job. I love to hear what children and caregivers think of new picture books, and there are few joys as great as putting a book into a toddler’s hands that I know they will love.
